12.45pm   “Brexit: where we are, what it means, and what we can do.”

Both prior to and ever since the vote to the leave the EU, the NFU has fully engaged in the debate. The NFU EU Exit & International Trade team, formed earlier this year, is tasked with coordinating the organisation’s work to analyse economic and political developments, develop NFU policy in the face of these and promote these positions to government, industry and the wider public. With Brexit negotiations in full swing, this presentation will aim to shed light on the process through the four lenses of policy priorities that the NFU has identified: trade, labour, domestic agricultural policy and regulation.  It will seek to explore some the implications of Brexit, what they may mean for the sector and what the NFU is doing to get the best outcome.
With Tom Keen, National Farmers Union EU Exit & International Trade Advisor

1.45pm  “What will the new Data Protection rules mean for you?”

The new GDPR (General Data Protections Regulations) will become law in the UK on May 25th 2018.
–  What is GDPR?
–  Who does it affect?
–  Do I need to do anything?
–  What are the actions I need to take?
The regulations will apply to the vast majority of businesses, from the sole trader to the multinational corporation – and the clock is ticking loudly

As yet, many businesses have not taken steps to ensure that they will comply with the regulations, but the potential penalties for non-compliance are substantial, both in financial and reputational terms.
Richard Evans (Nominas UK) will give an overview of the regulations, along with a twelve step action plan to help you to work towards compliance with the regulations and protect your business.

2.45pm “Talking Grazing”

With Hannah Moule, Rural Chartered Surveyor (Moule & Co. and The Business Barn)

5.45pm “Changes to the Red Tractor Assurance Schemes for Crops and Beef & Lamb”
